Editions
There are two editions of the software.
The Standard Edition is designed for a single user, managing all aspects of payroll in a small business or organization. FuturePAYE Standard uses Microsoft SL
Server Express LocalDB, which restricts database access to the Windows user address space. This feature makes it impractical to share the database remotely
among network users. It however provides all the benefits of Enterprise Editions of Microsoft SQL Server on a single user desktop, without the burden and
complexities of configuring and managing SQL Server.
The Enterprise Edition is highly scalable, and can support an unlimitted number of users and employees in any size organization. FuturePAYE Enterprise runs on all
versions of Microsoft SQL Server, from Standard to Data Center Editions.
FuturePAYE Enterprise can be deployed as a Windows Client Server Application or a Web Application with unlimited concurrent users under the same end-user
license.
All editions of FuturePAYE are functionally iden tical and and share the same code base.
Security
The application requires encrypted logins for read and write access to both the user interface and to the underlying SQL Server database
The application generates activity logs for view, add, edit and delete operations by users, independently of SQL Server triggers used to build an audit trail.
SQL Server INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE triggers generate a second audit trail.
All security and audit logs are stored in a separate database. In the Enterprise Edition, the Security Database can reside on the same server or on any server on the
network.
Search and Retrieval
Searching and retrieving employees from the database can be as simple as an optional auto-complete look up list; or by a variety of employee attributes like initials, first
and last name, partial or complete phone number, social security number, email address, employee number, or any other identifying number or contact information
stored in the system.
Organizational Structure
Accurately and completely representing the structure of small and large organizations in a HR system is fraught with challenges when you transition from a small
organization with only department, position and location; to a government with MDAs (Ministries, Departments and Agencies), Departments, Sections, Divisions,
Locations and Positions.
FuturePAYE manages this problem dynamically using a system of organizational unit types and defining units that remove any restrictions to the number of unit types in
the system.
The employment interface is dynamically generated based on the list of unit types and their hierarchy.
Performance and Stability
FuturePAYE is a time-tested solution with Enterprise class stability and high performance.
Payroll for a hundred thousand employee database, with an average of four pay items (salary, transport allowance etc.), adjustments for age in social security
calculations and all required adjustments for overtime, absence deductions, etc., can be completed and posted to a payroll transaction table in under 20 seconds on a
single 64 bit PC with an i9 processor and 32GB RAM.
